Let's see what your missing...

Do you have a hair care regime?

The Ultimate Guide

My step by step guide to healthier hair.

But my number one golden rule is to cut down how often you wash your hair. Less will do more.

Ideally you should wash your hair once a week (I wash mine every 2 weeks for maximum results).

Why? Because over washing your hair makes the cells think that they're never going to have the essential oils again. This puts your hair into overdrive and produces double, faster & way more intense making hair extremely greasy.

By washing your hair too regularly your not giving your hair chance to restore & rejuvinate itself. Just like a spot - if you pick at it every day, you'll end up with a scar. With your hair it's the same concept you will end up with dry, limp, over-greasy, unhealthy hair.

01

Brushing

I cannot express the importance of a good hairbrush & brushing hair more than once a day.

Like a toothbrush if not changed every few months a hairbrush will loose effectiveness. This is because the bristles on a hairbrush over time will loose its density, flexibility & build up dirt & grime (this is why you also need to clean your brush regularly).

What is a good hairbrush?

In our opinion a double-pinned/double-bristled hairbrush is the most effective to ensure healthy hair.

This is because having 2 sized pins/bristles has multiple benefits.

i.e removing dirt & grime, easy to use when wet and no snagging.

03

Shampooing

1. Choosing the right shampoo & conditioner is ONE key factor to healthy hair. HOWEVER if the product is used incorrectly (no matter how much you spend) you are not going to get the results.

i.e, dry, damaged, limp, lifeless hair.

From my experience & own personal hair care journey, sulphate shampoo is by far the best way to break through dirt & grime, because sulphate is just a lathering agent - It is not a bad thing.

2. How to Use it to get results:

You must double-shampoo always.

The first shampoo will break down dirt & grime. The second will clean & nourish. You must ensure the product is washed out entirely - Do the squeak test - If your hair doesn't squeak, your hair could end up weak!

3. If you have super thick, long hair a third wash is optional - but not essential.

AND REMEMBER only wash once a week if you can.

DO NOT WASH HAIR DAILY.

05

Drying

Drying your hair - Ideally let that hair dry itself.

My top tip would be to use a microfibre towel as this absorbs 60% of the water in your hair with NO DAMAGE.

You can then blow dry if you don't like the natural look, but please use heat protector & a cooler setting.

PLEASE DON'T BLOW DRY STRAIGHT OUT OF THE SHOWER. This is the WORST way to damage your hair.

02

Pre - Wash

A pre wash treatment is essential to any hair care regime. Whether it be a hair oil or hair growth mix, either way it should become part of your routine.

My personal journey involved home made rice water -  which was very smelly & time consuming.

So I have made it easier for you and created a rice water formula that is organically made, contains all 8 essential ingredients to encourage hair growth - and it smells great!

Simply brush hair to get rid of any knots, spray formula on mid lengths to ends, working into the scalp and leave for 20 minutes before washing out.

04

Conditioning

This is the nice part. Conditioning your hair is like oiling your cuticles after a manicure.  It leaves it Shiny, healthy and full of essential oils.

Conditioner must be applied to squeaky clean hair. Apply Mid lengths to ends and work up to the root to stimulate the scalp.

Again this must be washed out completely & ideally with cold water as it closes the cuticle & locks in the moisture.

AND REMEMBER only wash once a week if you can.

DO NOT WASH HAIR DAILY.

Additional Help

There are a few extra things you can add to your regime to increase vibrancy, thickness & overall hair health.

1. Heat Protection - If your curling straightening or styling your hair, this is a must.

2. Silk Pillowcase - Why? A cotton fibre pillow case against the cuticle of your hair will rub over time & damage the cuticle, resulting in thin sides, hair loss, dry, damaged, brittle & broken hair - Everything you don't want.

A silk pillow case does not rub against your cuticles which results in smoother, softer, healthier, shinier looking hair - Just try it - you'll notice the difference within 2 weeks.

3. DO NOT GO TO BED WITH WET HAIR.

4. DON'T TIE YOUR HAIR UP WET - Why? Your hair is at its most fragile when wet.

5. Cold water rinsing - just like an ice bath, it's great for your mind and soul - but even better for your hair & closing the cuticles.

6. AVOID THE HEAT - If your serious about hair growth. Heat is the biggest factor you need to avoid. Try heatless curls (there are soo many ways).

7. DO NOT USE DRY SHAMPOO OR SLEEP WITH DRY SHAMPOO IN - This will damage your hair beyond repair.

The Dry shampoo/talc/hair fibres sits on the hair and will break the hair down over time, especially if you wear it in bed.

8. Hair growth supplement - The only one I have personally found to be effective is GLOWWA.

I have seen real results within 21 days.

Brushing twice daily with the hairbrush of dreams

Cold Water Washing

Cold water flattens and seals the hair cuticles, which results in smoother hair strands, less frizz, and a shinier looking appearance. In addition, it also stimulates blood circulation to the scalp, which may promote hair growth and overall scalp health.

Using Glowwa

Not going to bed with wet hair

Hair is at its most fragile when wet, so if you go to bed with it damp and proceed to toss and turn against a pillow, you run a higher risk of breakage.

Silk Pillow Case

The smooth texture allows the fabric to glide against your hair cuticles, producing less friction than coarser fabrics that are more likely to snag hair.

Using Rice Water

Not using dry shampoo

Washing Hair Once a Week

excessive shampooing  can cause dehydration and lead to breakage.

Avoiding Heat where possible

Too much heat on the hair causes breakage—constantly heating and cooling will weaken the hair, leading it to break

Never dry

soaking wet hair

When your locks are soaking wet, blow-drying can actually trap water inside the hair strands, where the water boils.
